Brick City Cafe Project

The Problem

Losing the Only Full-time Restaurant in Hebron

  • The current Wagon Wheel restaurant was going out of business as of Dec 28, 2019.

  • The Wagon Wheel building is not sustainable going forward.

The Solution

Provide a Modern and Updated Restaurant Facility

  • A small group of investors created Brick City Promoters, LLC. The goal of the group was to keep the current restaurant open while possible options for a long term solution were being considered.

  • To avoid the “domino effect” of losing businesses in town, BCP purchased the Wagon Wheel property and facilitated Lee & Sara Reinbold to temporarily open the Brick City Café in the building.

  • This is temporary for several reasons including regulations due to change of ownership and the building structure is not sustainable long term.

  • BCP purchased the old Super Valu (dba Extended Stay Suites) building to remodel to move the Brick City Café into. Funding is required in order to renovate the building.

  • The ideal outcome would be the eventual sale of the building to the business owner. Brick City Promoters would then reinvest those funds, into another building and business in town, to do this all over again.

  • As of July 2021, there are 32 individuals and businesses that have contributed $81,000 dollars.  This has been used to acquire the assets indicated above and purchase materials to frame out and drywall the restaurant phase of the project.  Our goal is to attract $200,000 of investment into Brick City Promoters LLC to complete the restaurant phase of the project.

COVID-19: While timing of the COVID-19 pandemic was less than ideal for this project, we actually lucked out it did not occur after the remodeling had begun. We now have the opportunity to think through what a new norm will look like for restaurants such as incorporating appropriate ventilation, designing safer bathrooms, and inclusion of other protections to make our new facility safe, yet Inviting to patronage.
